Winter Warmers......................
Winter warmer
Keeping it simple....................
Comfort food, being warm and a sense of home.
I can remember as a child being tucked into bed in winter with a hot water bottle. It was that comforting feeling of "I am home".
Keeping it simple....................
Comfort food, being warm and a sense of home.
I can remember as a child being tucked into bed in winter with a hot water bottle. It was that comforting feeling of "I am home".
I have passed this tradition onto my children and they love nothing more than jumping into bed with their hot water bottles.
So gather your family and cook up a delicious meal and enjoy your time together.
Here is one of my favourite recipes.......
Pan-fried veal with soft polenta and blue cheese.
4x 200g veal cutlets
2 gloves garlic, crushed
1/4 cup chopped oregano leaves
2 tbl spoons olive oil
sea slat and cracked pepper
11/2 cups chicken stock
11/2 cups milk
40g unsalted butter
1 cup polenta
150g blue cheese, sliced
Place the veal, garlic, oregano, oil, salt and pepper in a large bowl and toss to coat. Heat a large non-stick frying pan over medium heat. Add the veal and cook for 5-6 minutes each side. Set aside and keep warm.
Place the stock, milk and butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Bring to the boil and gradually add the polenta, whisking to combine. cook for 1 minute, whisking continuously, until thickened. Top the polenta with the veal and blue cheese to serve.
Enjoy!

White washed mango wood furniture............
Wood that has been white washed can create a versatile backdrop. Adding splashes of colour for impact or keep it relaxed with neutral tones of cream, taupe and biscuit. Displays of coral, shells and timber pieces can look great and can conjour up thoughts of lazy days spent scouring the beach for treasures.
ELM TOPPED FURNITURE
These gorgeous free standing pieces are topped with a rustic recycled elm wood. This wood lends itself to both coastal and country styles of decor. Its rustic and durable nature will stand up to the most rigorous treatment and our harsh summer climate. Perfect for out on the deck or inside as appealing and practical everyday furniture.
CLOTHING AND JEWELLERY
The benefits of natural fibres have long been celebrated for their practicality, durability and plain good looks. We have a large range of cotton, linen and silk dresses and tops in a great range of colours, bright reds, lime green, soft pink as well as the ever versatile navy, black and white.
We now have an elegant range of jewellery and accessories. Earrings, necklaces and bracelets, handbags, scarves and shoes. Something to suit everyone.

Book of the week...................
One person's trash is another's treasure..................
One person's trash, as the saying goes, is another person's treasure.
I have a love for old vintage pieces, these are not always expensive pieces but beautiful pieces that could tell a story or two that have been cherished and loved and have lived a life somewhere long ago.
So instead of heading to the town shops, try an old market or a garage sale or even a second hand shop.
I love to rummage through an op shop and find old cutlery, fine bone china tea cups and vintage fabrics which look great transformed into cushion covers.
Many a time when I have been to a market I have wished I had bought a bigger bag or a cart with wheels on it.
Some pieces will be welcomed as they are but others will need tender loving care or in need of some urgent repairs.
There is no other feeling like the one of achievement after restoring something old and shabby
back to beautiful piece that will be cherished and loved.
Be inspired...............

Made with love.....................
Made with love........................
With Mother's Day coming up I thought I would write about my love for making things.
There is nothing like the feeling you get when someone has given you something that they
have made, whether it be your child a dear friend or your mother.
This feeling is ten times better in the giving..................
So get creative and put your own individual stamp on something. It is not about taking on a
difficult task or being skilled but just simply having some fun and being creative which is good
for the soul.
I love to collect little treasures, remnant fabric and pretty buttons and make something unique and special.
Good Luck and have fun.............
So you have a few weeks up your sleeve before Mother's Day is here now is the time to be creative.
